ASCENT DESCENT
KS Radhakrishnan
Human beings are always aspiring to a higher plane than the one they find themselves in, materially or emotionally. Always finding that after the high tide comes the low tide. But the wave, whether at high tide or low, is the same beautiful flowing entity.
Earlier, The Ramp, depicted many small figures on a ramp-like structure, reaching up – but we don’t know towards what specific destination. Here, two of the figures are ascending, two are descending, even as they twist in their own individual spirals. But the twisting and turning are not tortuous.
Ascent Descent expresses my feeling that life is a flowing process; it is human beings who experience it as ‘ups’ and ‘downs’.
